Now I only cry once!
I don’t know about you, but I despise chopping onions. It entails two of my least favorite things to do…Crying and cleaning up messes.
I detest it so much that I used to just sprinkle a bottle of minced onion when a recipe called for chopped onion. Yes, I know it’s pathetic!
Now we all know nothing taste better than fresh chopped onion, especially when browning ground beef.
I created an easy system…..
Every time I get out my food processor, I chop several onions and put them in a snack baggie measuring approximately 1/2 cup in each baggie.
Then I freeze the finely chopped onions. This saves so much time and clean up. Just pop out a bag and let defrost or pop in microwave.

LOVE this! We are part of a veggie co-op and get fresh veggies every two weeks, but I feel like a lot gets wasted. I’m always looking for ways to make those veggies go further.
I found your blog via Homeschool on the Croft and have been enjoying browsing. The strawberry tip is most useful-thank you.
Hope to enjoy reading your posts regularly.
this is an awesome idea!!! I use onions for a lot of my cooking (i like the flavor it gives). I might try this out this weekend :o)
I do the same with bell peppers and celery, too!
Great idea, Marcy! Thanks for sharing.
have you tried wearing swimming goggles when chopping onions? I find that very good! Give it a try!!!
Thanks for the tip! I have to admit, I haven’t tried that yet!
