Memory Verse: 1 John 4:16 (NIV)
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
Intro: Sometime “being all you can be” is a challenge. We are trying to balance being a godly wife, mother, teacher, keeper of the home, and much more. None of us are perfect and we all struggle in our own ways with being able to achieve what we feel needs to get done.
Assignment: This week I thought we could share what great ways we have found to help with all we have to do. Besides the obvious getting face down in front of God, what have you found that works? Have you done a great bible study that deals with this area? Do you have a certain “thing” that really helps you like a planner or gadget? Do you have a certain bible verse that just speaks to you and you have it posted so you see it all the time? Is there a website that is really valuable to you in this area? What do you do that if someone else found out about it, they could benefit from it?
First, I must give God all the glory for allowing me to stay sane and from not jumping off the nearest bridge everyday. Staying home with 5 boys can cause some distress at a times. LOL! Honestly, I love my chosen career and wouldn’t have it any other way. However, I do have my moments where I feel a tad frazzled.
I try to rise up each morning at least 30 minutes before the first ds comes sneaking into my lap. This gives me time to meditate on my daily bible reading, prayer time, and plan out my day and write it on my daily agenda sheet that I created in publisher. This time always lifts my spirit and allows me to prepare myself mentally and spiritually for the many hats I wear throughout the day. Of course, coffee is always involved.
Second, I have a routine that I stick to as much as possible. For the most part, everything happens in the same sequence everyday regardless of the time. I have found this to work marvelous for my crew. Everyone knows what to do, when to do it and what comes next.
Third, I try to prepare as much of our supper meal at lunch time. For example, if we are having a casserole for dinner, I would prepare it at lunch time before I clean up from lunch. Also, I LOVE my crock pot. We are best friends!
Fourth, I have a cleaning schedule that I created from reading this ebook here. I have used motivatedmoms in the past and have loved it! It worked great for me. It is especially wonderful for the procrastinator. I involve my children in the chore process. I feel if you don’t train your children in the household tasks that you will be doing them a disservice later on. Yes, my boys clean the bathroom. My DIL are going to love me.
Finally, I have a notebook for everything. I am a notebook queen.
Visit other homeschool mom’s ideas here to make our life a little less hectic.
I love notebooks too! I have tons of them as well as pens and stationery papers. I really loved reading your assignment. Grreat job!! Have a wonderful week.
