How to Review Spelling Words in the Summer

If your child isn’t out of school yet, ask their teacher for a list of all their spelling words that they learned this past year. If your child has already been dismissed for the summer, use these free spelling lists instead.

I like to have a practice pretest on Monday with these summer spelling test printables and have an informal spelling test on Friday either using shaving cream or sidewalk chalk outside. Make it fun.

Reward them at the end of the summer with a treat or a new backpack for the upcoming school year for their efforts. There is no reason your kiddos can’t continue learning and reading this summer.
