My young children and I have been partaking in the FUN and engaging music lessons provided by Music Together.  We’ve started a band!  Or at least they think so!

The middle section contains the 19 songs from the Music Together Family Favorites CD that accompanies the songbook.  This section is very helpful for the homeschool parent because it includes several teacher pages.  Each teacher page has ideas and suggestions for the different age groups as well as children with special needs for teaching the specific music lessons.

The final section includes information about the Music Together Program and how to become associated with their licensed applications.  Also, it includes a glossary and guitar reference chart.

How it Worked For Us

Each morning my little ones 2, 5, and 7 years of age sit in a circle on the living room and start off their favorite song, Biddy Biddy.  We clap, slap, and tap to the beat.  We also play instruments that we have had for years.  We only use the instruments for certain songs periodically.  We usually rotate instruments.  This is a huge hit for the little ones.  They look forward these 20 – 30 minutes each day.  I plan on continuing this program 2 times per week.  I found it to be a great start to our day with movement right after Bible hour.  However, I definitely think is it geared towards preschoolers!  The songs are a bit babyish in my opinion.

This program would be a wonderful program for a homeschool coop setting, daycare or preschool class.  Even the musical novice would have no problem teaching music lessons with Music Together.  The program has won many awards.
