Having a Jesus birthday party helps teach kids the true meaning of Christmas. It’s about His birthday. Even though he was probably born in October, Christmas is the day we choose as a family to celebrate the miraculous birth of our Saviour. Each year we make a big deal out of it. Just as we make a big deal out of each kid’s special day.
What should I do for Jesus’s birthday?
- Bake a Jesus birthday cake or make cupcakes (we make it on Christmas Eve). Be sure you put a candle to represent the birth of Jesus and an advent chain.
- Play Pin the Hay in the Manger while using a blindfold. (scroll down).
- Make a birthday card for Jesus and color with crayons, and put a heart on it
- Buy some fun Jesus birthday hats and streamers
- Read Luke 2 in the bible, and have your family act it out
- Play musical chairs with Christmas carols
- Eat candy canes while reading the Legend of the Candy Cane
- Play Christmas Bingo and buy gifts at the dollar store.

Thanks for the great ideas 🙂 Our party is on Christmas with all of our family. We decorate just like we do for our birthdays, but a little more over the top 😉 Jesus must have a red heart cake because he loves us and hearts are red (says my 5 yr old!)
Valerie,
I love the red heart cake idea! Fun and creative.
This is my first year to do this! Thanks for your party theme ideas. We are inviting friends and everyone is bringing a new, unwrapped gift to donate to a charitable group in our area! I’m so excited for my little one to throw a party for the Greatest Giver we know!

I love the idea of throwing a party for Jesus. I am working hard to keep Santa out of my house so as to not teach my children a lie. I want to make a big deal out of Jesus’ birth 🙂 Thank you for this!
