I love providing my children with hands on activities. It’s just makes learning so much more FUN and meaningful when you provide them with sensory activities.
I picked up a few items on the Easter aisle at Walmart last week and decided that I would make the princess something to help her with her basic counting. She knows her numbers, but found the activity a lot of FUN. I’m sure the jelly beans had a tad bit to do with it, too.
To make this easy Easter counting activity you will need to make a stop at the dollar store or Walmart. It’s a very inexpensive activity to make and takes no time at all.
Supplies Needed
- plastic egg tray
- permanent Marker
- plastic bowl
- Jelly Beans (I used the small ones)
Simply write the numbers 1-12 in random order on the egg tray. You can get very creative and even write addition or subtraction facts on them, too.
The princess had fun sorting by color, too. It kept her busy after school while I was helping the boys with their spelling words pretest.
If you don’t want to use jelly beans, you can use math manipulatives.
Check out the Easter Egg Counting Activity that the kids will find engaging, too. If you have older children, be sure to check out the Easter Egg Digraph Activity.
Thanks for sharing and pinning this easy, but FUN Easter Counting Activity with others.
I am browsing your blog now after receiving e-mails for quite a while, now. I love this idea! I’m going to summer it up and do some simple math stuff for my kindergartner. He’s pretty good at counting already, so I figured I’d try that instead. Really cute idea!
