This has to be the simplest crock pot chicken and rice recipe in the world.
Seriously, I’m kinda embarrass to post it because it’s a no brainer. All the ingredients are staples in our home, so we have it often especially on Sundays after worship. This feeds my family of 8 and we seldom have leftovers, so you might want to adjust the ingredients to meet your family’s appetite.
It’s a super easy meal to throw together in a rush! I usually just serve it with a green salad.

One of the things I miss from America the most is a crock pot. If I could have a penny for everytime I wished I could get one here, I would need to rely on support. 🙂 Thank you so much for linking up at Mommy Teaches!!
Jill…I love easy! And I love my crockpot! Thank you for sharing an easy and inexpensive recipe this week at WJIM. I look forward to trying it.
making this today! YUM!
Let me know how it turns out! We love it (:
Can you use regular rice (not instant)?
Liberty,
Sure you can, but I think you probably need to cook the rice and then add it in your crock pot. I am not sure if the rice would get hot enough otherwise. Please let me know how it works for you.
How big is your box of rice? I have a 16 oz box of brown rice… Is that too much? Thanks for this easy recipe!
Gerilyn,
I used at least half the box. Just add more water if you want to use the whole box. Sorry I don’t ever measure (:
I have one child who can’t do cream of anything soup–she can’t have milk or milk products. What do you suggest in lieu of the cream soup?
How about pouring tomato sauce or bbq sauce? You just want to make sure there is enough liquid for the rice to cook.
I tried this recipe and it came out tasteless!
Sometimes easy is the BEST to share! A lot of people don’t think of the simple stuff! Thanks:)
You are so welcome, Julia! I love simple!
I love simple and easy! I make something similar to this but just add some stove top stuffing to the top before serving it. It’s one of our family’s favorite comfort foods 🙂
How much rice should be in ‘a small box’ of rice?
I forgot to add water but it still came out yummy. More flavorful actually. I used boil in a bag rice as well. 😀
