I am requiring my High School students to read (1) Shakespeare play per year. However, all of his plays are written in Shakespheanese and I think it should be considered a foreign language. LOL!
I must admit, I am not a HUGE Shakespeare fan, but I want my children to be exposed to many different types of writings from different genres.
Take a look at all of these FREE Study Guides with many different classics written from numerous authors including plays, novels, poems, essays, and definitions.
These study guides are not written from a Christian perspective, so you might want to review them first before you hand them off to your student.
Has anyone heard of this book?
Is there a Shakespeare for Dummies book out there?

I don’t know about Shakespeare for dummies, but there is a series called No Fear Shakespeare that is REALLY great. It’s like a parallel Bible translation, but it has the original play on the left page, and the right page is a modern day American English translation. Both my daughters studied Romeo & Juliet using No Fear Shakespeare and it was GREAT.
