Our family took the plunge into the essential oil craze about three years ago. I admit, I was a bit hesitant at first because my parents taught me to go to the doctor and that there is a pill for everything.
I’m definitely not against medicine, and believe that it is essential in many circumstances. However, being a single parent without insurance (sore subject), I knew I needed to try another option for the common ailments my children and I were experiencing and to take preventive measures to build up our immune systems.
Essential oils have made a big difference in our lives as far as our everyday well-being and wellness. Of course, we still get run down at times, but for the most part, our family is considered a very healthy bunch.
Essential oils were an investment for our family, so I wanted to make sure we were using the oils properly and getting the most benefit from each bottle.
4 Ways to Get the Most out of your Essential Oils
- Always buy oils packaged in dark coloured glass that filters out the sun’s ultra-violet light. Store in a cool, dark place or in the refrigerator. Citrus oils are especially prone to oxidation.
- Diffuse oils in an AromaSoft Diffuser so the whole family can benefit. The 24V essential oil aromatherapy diffuser is easy to use, it’s portable, and has 7 rotating light colors. It’s very relaxing, and my whole family enjoys the soft light show.
If you don’t care to shine the light while you are sleeping, you can turn off the light by holding the button down for approximately 3 seconds. You can manually select the diffuser to mist in 30-second intervals, or you can select the diffuser’s continual mist for hours. It meets all of my needs.
I like the fact that I can just use good old tap water for convenience in the diffuser. The AromaSoft Diffuser is so quiet, unlike the other diffusers I’ve had in the past.
- Wear An Oil Diffuser Necklace. I love to wear a stylish necklace that includes a small synthetic felt pad that allows me to drop some of my favorite oils on it. This allows me to enjoy the benefits of my oils everywhere I go. You can wash the pads with soap and water, as well as order replacement pads.
Did I mention how cute they are. I get compliments everywhere I go. I have three different styles.
The Necklace is made out of premium, hypoallergenic surgical grade 316L stainless steel for long life and durability. It comes with a life time guarantee. It has a strong magnetic closure and solid back, so you never have to worry about getting oil on your clothes that could possibly stain.
They also make incredible gifts for your family and friends. My daughter adores her elegant heart necklace that she wears daily to school with lavender. We usually change out the felt pad once a week, but place a drop of oil daily on the pad.
- Use a Carrier Oil. This was one of the hard lessons I had to learn for myself. Call me lazy or what, but I originally didn’t put carrier oil on first before applying my oils topically. This not only caused my skin to get irritated, but wasted about half of my oil. I now get a lot more oil for my buck by using a carrier oil of choice.
