I adore making a simple cheese ball during the holidays. They are always a hit and tend to make plenty for a crowd.
I like to experiment with different ingredients when making a cheese ball. Depending on who I am making it for, will depend on the ingredients. I love spicy.
This simple cheese ball recipe is the one that I bring when I know there will be children attending the affair. It’s very mild, but addicting. It has just the right amount of sweetness to it. My kids love it.
How to Make a Simple Cheese Ball
Ingredients
- 2 8 oz of cream cheese, softened
- 8 oz of pineapple tidbits, drained well
- 4 T of onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 c of green pepper, chopped
- 2 T of garlic, minced
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 c of pecans or walnuts, chopped
Directions
In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, pineapple, onion, green pepper, garlic, and seasoning. Mix well until blended. Either roll into one or two balls. You can freeze the second one for a later date. Roll in chopped nuts to coat. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate.
Serve with crackers, veggies, or pita chips.
Serves 15.
TIP: Make sure you drain the pineapple well.
My all time favorite cheese ball I make for every holiday contains blue cheese. It’s divine, but my kiddos are not too keen on it.
