No, I haven’t disappear from the face of the earth. We were on a fabulous 10 day vacation. I can’t really say relaxing because traveling with 5 boys can get a bit chaotic. Especially, in the car, even with a DVD player. Geeezzz! How did our parents survive on long trips without a dvd player with us?
Anyways, the first driving day we stopped about half ways to Orange Beach , our destination, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. We visited the battlefield where part of the civil war was fought. It truly showed the horrific 43 days of bloody battle that was bravely fought. It was astonishing to actually see the 17,000 tombstones that were neatly planted in the graveyard. It’s really hard to comprehend. I just can’t imagine that happening to our little town. We were so awe struck with the entire visit that we decided to stop and stay in the town on the way home. BTW, we are going to be studying the Civil War next school year. So, it was a perfect field trip.
The next day we drove to our final destination, Orange Beach, Alabama. It is truly beautiful. Green water and perfect white sand. We all enjoyed being together as a family and taking notice of how immaculate God really is. The boys loved surfing the waves and swimming everyday in the pool.
My parents and sister and her family joined us in the 5 bedroom condo overlooking the gorgeous beach. It was perfect. We all got along wonderful despite how different we all are as individuals, was well as families. It was truly a blessed time. We can’t wait to go back next year.
Here are some photos of our adventure.
