We whipped up our simple baked apple recipe this past weekend. It’s always a favorite during the fall season.
Topped with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream, this simple baked apples recipe is divine.
Apples and cinnamon, oh my!
How to Make Simple Baked Apples
Ingredients
- 3 large crisp apples (Gala, Fuji, or Honey Crisp)
- 5 T butter
- 6 T brown sugar, packed
- 2 T flour
- 2 t cinnamon
- 9 caramels
Directions
Cut the top 1/4 off each apple. Be sure to make your cut so that the apple will have a level top in your cooking dish. Cut the core out of each apple. Also cut the inside of the apple like cutting a pie from center to the skin but not through. The more cuts the better! Spray or oil your cooking dish and place the apples inside. Insert three caramels unwrapped in the center of each apple (the bottom one will seal the hole).Melt your butter and add brown sugar until dissolved. Add both cinnamon and flour mixing well. Top each apple with a third of the mixture. Bake at 375 for 30-40 minutes depending on the size of apples. Cut through to serve with ice cream or cool whipped toppings.
