Everyone needs a delicious, moist pound cake recipe in the recipe box, right?
This is the perfect dessert to serve at a tea, pot luck, or dinner engagement. You simply can’t go wrong with pound cake. Sometimes I add a dollop of cool whip along with fruit, but mostly I serve with whatever fruit is on sale.
How to Make Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 1 c of butter, softened
- 1 2/3 c of sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1t of vanilla or almond extract
- 2 c of all purpose flour
Directions
Beat butter until creamy. Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well blended. Gradually add flour, and pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.
Serves 10.
