Today at Mylifeasannie she wants us to pack our bags and go down memory lane to back when we were “21”
Annie asks..
You’re 21.
What’s going on in your life?
Who are you spending most of your time with?
What’s your favorite things to do? eat? hobby?
Yikes….. I was definitely not the person who I am today. Thank God for His saving grace and my guardian angel who protected me during those crazy college years.
So, I will only tell you the positive things that I remember about my 21 year of life.
I was a junior at Stephen F. Austin State University studying barely majoring in a BA degree in Criminal Justice/Sociology. I was living with my friend, Lisa, that I have known since High School. We had entirely too much fun. Use your imagination.
I hung out with tons of friends, girls and guys that I still keep in touch with. Some just at Christmas and some on more occasions. I loved (at the time) my insane life as a irresponsible college student. Yes, I graduated in 4 1/2 years. Amazing ~ only by the Grace of God.
My favorite food was Taco Bell after midnight. Did you know that Taco Bell taste so much better after midnight? And my favorite drink was not water as it is today.
I loved to go country dancing, and even wore those ugly Rocky Mountain denim jeans without any pockets on the back. Those were hideous!
Let’s just say, the song Unanswered Prayers by Garth Brooks has a whole new meaning to me today. Amen!
LOL I remember those jeans, never had a pair… but I do remember them!
Thanks for sharing.
Great story, thanks for sharing!
I love Taco Bell ANY hour of the day or night! Thanks for sharing your memories! 🙂
Those jeans were and still are hideous!!
21… I was married and Eli was a little over a year, we lived in Natchitoches. Marq and Shannon were our preaching family and a huge influence in our lives and I was just begining my walk with Christ!
Oh I remember those jeans, i think I even had a pair…. LOL Thanks for sharing!!
Have a great Tuesday!
Taco Bell was about all I could afford during college. LOL I think I ate there at least 4 or 5 times a week. and I agree after midnight the food does taste better.
Great TTT
Awww taco bell….good stuff. LOL
I remember those jeans too. I knew people who wore them.
I am so glad you treasure the good and rejoyce in who you are today! Nice post.
Yes, I’m glad several of my prayers weren’t answered back then either! There were a couple of Country Line Dancing places in my college town, too. And I think I still see people wearing those jeans — at least all the girls majoring in agriculture did back then along with the brown laced boots with the leather fan at the end of the laces — do you know what I’m talking about?
I can so relate to that post. I wasn’t much of a partier then, though I was pretty reckless in my behavior. I was saved many years later, and I also can relate to unanswered prayers.
